Hi, I am really keen on buying a pre-owned reverso and in turn I have just seen a 2004 pre-owned Grande Date stainless steel with a leather strap. It is in perfect condition, comes with 12 months warrenty and is from a reputable dealer. They are looking for 3500 sterling or about $5700 USD. I am expecting to pay a premium for buying from a dealer, but it still seems a lot - is it over priced? Also the salesman told me it was manual and automatic winding, I wasn't convinced as I didnt think Grande date was automatic? Thanks as always for your help! Dear Peter, the Grande Date is manually wound and has two barrels to supply 8 days of powerreserve. The only watch with an automatic movement in the Grande Reverso line is the Grande Auto- matic that comes with the big date display at 11h, a second time zone and day-night-indi- cator but a powerreserve of "just" 2 days. Given the fact that the Grande Date is selling at about 7000 EUR new, the quoted price still seems to be within a reasonable range to me. Cheers Christian |

Thanks Christian - that is really useful. I suppose I have a reservation given the credit crunch and spending that much on a watch - but it is beautiful :-) if I did want to sell it on - what do you reckon I would get for it privately? Cheers Peter |
