Hello Zaf,
you told me some month ago:
"Because LeCoultre never made a triple calander chronograph"

and you wrote:

"It's a fake sorry. I've been looking at this stuff for almost 25 years. I've examined 1000s of watches. They all came out of Germany suddenly 7-8 years ago. There are no triple date triple chrono LeCoultres. The dial is made up and the bridge is modifed from a blank."

Please now look at the recent Bonhams auction, Lot 115

Many auction houses have sold lots of fakes of all manner of things. Humans make mistakes, even auction appraisers !!!

You can believe whatever you want to believe. You can believe in Santa Claus if you want! Auction houses do sell fakes, and more frequently than you think. Wether it is intentional or not, hard to say.

This watch is fake too. Aside from the fact that there has never been a JLC or LC with Valjoux 72C, why would this supposedly USA watch have it's date in French?

Is it unpossible that JLC produced this watches with "LECoultre" on the dial not only for the american market ?

I had more as 1000 watches in my hands and I was thinking, I can see if a watch is abraded or/and new engraved.

I looked my brigde 1000 times, but for me its original.

Yes, the fakes are almost perfect. I know who made them, he is from Poland. He's made many watches that are models that have never existed, including LeCoultre and Longines "Type 20" looking watches, etc. His nickname in the dealer community is "The Master".

For the 1960s, to my knowledge "LeCoultre" was not sold outside of America. The movements for these watches would have been marked "VXN" and "Unadjusted".

Just received a note from the watch expert at Bonhams that the lot has been withdrawn. I applaud this response and bravo Bonhams!
