Hi All,
Can anyone help me find out what my moms old watch may be worth and/or where to see it? It is just too heavy for my wrist and has been in my lock box for years. She bought it new (in the 80s?) and the numbers on the back are:
260.5.18
1847609
Any information anyone can provide would be wonderful.
Thanks!

Is it manual wind or battery powered? I'm not very good with more recent pieces, but we can try to figure it out.

Zaf,

I think this watch may have a battery. I used to wear it (15+ years ago) and I do not ever remember winding it. It is not keeping time now, so I tried to wind it, but it still does not move. Thus, I guess I am a little worried that there may be an old batter in it??? Any thoughts?

THanks!

It's battery powered.
...as you mention the weight as an issue - exchanging the steel/gold bracelet with a leather strap might be an option for you.
Battery exchange is a bit tricky since 2x2 screws hold the caseback, but a nice watchmaker can do this.

Ilja,

Any idea of value on this type of watch?

Thanks!

Quartz watches don't sell high and well, maybe $2000 or a bit more since it's two-tone (stainless steel and 18k gold), bracelet and a quite seldom seen monnphase model.

Ilja,

Thanks for the estimate, I just had no idea what value it may have and this certainly helps.

Thanks again!
